Charles Darwin’s portrait by John Collier

This oil-on-canvas portrait of Charles Darwin can be admired in Room 19 of the National Portrait Gallery of London. Darwin’s friend and supporter John Collier made his portrait in 1881, just the year before Darwin’s death. This is a copy made by the painter in 1883.
