This Villa, in Marburg (Wilhelm-Roser-Straße 2), was built in 1883 by the surgeon Wilhelm Roser and later acquired by Emil von Behring. The building stands out for its use of red brick combined with a red sandstone base, giving the structure an elegant appearance.
The villa consists of two main storeys, topped by an attic floor situated beneath a hipped roof.
When Behring lived there with his family, the villa was further decorated, including the addition of a winter garden at the southwest corner of the building.
The building is now used by the Philipps University of Marburg for administrative and academic purposes. It is considered the 5th “station” of the Behring route.
