This statue honors Louis Stromeyer, one of the most influential German surgeons of the 19th century and a pioneer in orthopedic surgery. The statue can be seen in the city center of Hanover, it is located in Georgstrasse, near the Opera House.
The sculpture is typically a full-standing statue, carved in marble, over three meters tall. Stromeyer is depicted in a solemn, contemplative pose, wearing formal attire of his era, conveying both his professional stature and human presence.
The base of the statue bears the dates of his birth and death (1804–1876).
