This solemn monument of Max Joseph von Pettenkofer can be seen in the park of Maximiliansplatz in Munich, just in front of Justus von Liebig one.
As you can read on the pedestal, the imposing statue was designed in 1909 by German sculptor Wilhelm von Rümann.
