In the same church of the Saints Gregorio and Siro, where Marcello Malpighi is buried in Bologna, we can see also the place of his original burial. It is an octagonal tombstone in the floor of the church in front of the altar of saint Camillus de Lellis. The Latin inscription “OSSA M.MALPIGHI” is engraved on the stone.
