Mariano Semmola’s monument

A not very well preserved monument to the memory of Mariano Semmola can be seen in Naples (Piazza Cavour’s gardens).

The marble bust of the scientist is a work by Italian sculptor Francesco Jerace (1854-1937) made in 1934, as can be read on the back of the bust. On the basament, the name of the scientist and a caduceus.
