This memorial of Covid-19 Pandemic can be seen in the parking area of the Sacrario in Viterbo (Piazza Martiri d’Ungheria). It was inaugurated on May 21, 2021, and it was the first of its kind in Italy. It celebrates the efforts and the sacrifice of life of many health professionals during the worst phase of the pandemic. It is a work of Italian sculptor Giovanni Funari.
It represents a lectern on which there is an open book with an inscription. On its left we find the snake coiled around the staff, symbol of medicine, and an abandoned stethoscope.
