Giovanni Battista Morgagni’s bust

This marble bust of Giovanni Battista Morgagni by italian sculptor Alessandro Bracci is now visible, on a wooden basament, in a room of the public library of Palazzo del Merenda, former seat of the ancient hospital of Forlì, the Ospedale della Casa di Dio per gli Infermi. It was sculpted in 1767 as stated in the inscription on the back of the bust: “ALEXAN.BRACCI.ROMANVS.F.MDCCLXVII”.
